Default DC controller

I installed my electric fan yesterday and wired in with a DC controller question for those of you guys running a DC controller where did you locate your temp prob and how did you fasten it and second did any of you mess with the temp setting it comes out of the box to kick on at 180 deg and can be adjusted + or - 30 deg

The temp. sensor needs to go close to the outlet hose. On my truck it's the bottom right corner of the radiator if you are looking at it from the front. Place it within a few inches and you will be good. It's different for vertical and horizontal flow radiators. The sensor sticks into the radiator. Gently push it in between the aluminum fins. I believe it was about an inch or so. It won't go anywhere once it's in.....hmmm
