DANGIT!!! Crome painted cap came off the gear shifter..
...And I lost the piece... I have been super gluing this together since I bought the truck used a while back... Guess I kicked the little cap out of the cab one day... Its the gear shifter from the center console of an FX4.
Anyone have a fix for this?!

i would have used liquid nails. way better than super glue when using plastics.

I used a few dabs of gorilla glue at have never had any problems with it. It's probably not worth replacing the shifter for just that little cap. One of my buddies took his to the dealer when his cap came off and alls they did was glue it on, so I think it was a pretty common issue.

Oh I would gladly re-glue it, again, if I still had the crome cap... I kicked it outta the cab or something because I can not find it anywhere... Been looking for over a week now...

have you contacted the dealer to see if they have one? considering this is a common issue they might just have a few laying around for when they take one in on trade thats missing it. worth a shot, would be easier and much cheaper than replacing the shifter assembly.

look on ebay. there is tons of people listing parts but its a front for a wrecking yard. email them and ask for that piece. look under glove box, master cylinder, power steerinf pump. things like that. te list that part but ther ad is parts for the whole truck. or tell you friends you took it off to save weight and gained a sec in the 1/4
