Custom Retrofit Project from Sick HIDS (with Pics!)
#12
Mine was only $159 total. I did the work myself, and just had to buy a new H1 bulb and the projectors. I got the H13 adapter too, that makes it a lot easier to aim.
What do you mean the hot spot is off or missing? Should I pull the headlight and make sure it's in there properly? As far as I can tell going down the road at night it's perfect... even if it's not perfect, the improvement is so great that I wouldn't know it was off...lol
Here are the night pix I promised:
Let me know what you think. I'm open to any improvements you see needs to be done.
Now, AFTER I took these pics I did adjust them some more, so it is more of a straight line cut off than you see here.

Cutoff looks great. I'd just double check to make sure the bulb is seated straight as can be into the projector. Notice that the 'brightest" part of your cutoff (where there is the most color on the cutoff) isn't at the "step" which is where it should be. Its not a big deal, but if you were nit-picky about perfection that'd be something to check out. (based on the above pics, it looks like your driver's side hotspot is a bit left of the step and your passenger side hotspot is a bit to the right of the step).
Otherwise, excellent job and a great example of how only 100-150 bucks can change a PnP HID kit into something that truly performs well.
Here, see how the 'hotspot" or brightest spot is right at the steps? This is what I'm talking about:

Here's the problem though... The bulbs wouldn't fit into the projectors without me loosening the screws a little. The bulb would just hit the screws the the bubble on the glass, and wouldn't fit. I could take them back out and try again, but I'm sure it would just happen again, as I tried it several times initially. Perhaps I did something wrong?

If you already have a Plug/Play kit, then you can do it. You can re-use your H13 harness and the 35w ballasts from your previous kit. Email TRS and ask for their "value" miniH1 projectors. they have a minuscule blemish that isn't even visible (I couldn't find it on mine). The value projectors are $75 for the pair, and you need a pair of H1 bulbs which are $15 a pair from them. They have free shipping, so you are looking at $90 and maybe 3-4 hours maximum of your time.
