Hmm. Have you checked all of your brake/tail light bulbs?

You could actually try to check the fuse...

Never mind didn't read the full post. Brake switches can cause it. Bulbs.. Or even at worst wiring.

i had this problem only no tail light issue. i checked my transmission where my shifter linkage is connected and there was a plastic piece broken and it was held together with metal wiring, because of this it was not properly being put into gear, check that by wiggling it a little maybe or tighting it.

just another something that it might be for you to test, because i know when my truck is broken i go crazy when i can't even think of anything to test it. GOOD LUCK

Yes

That switch is for the cruise control and could very well be bad.

If its not the switch it's probably the clockspring in the back of the steering wheel.

2005 f150 fuse 14. Blows everytime the temps get below 50 degrees. I believe it controls ac , cruise , and rear backup lights. Numerous people in online chat rooms have had no luck with this problem. Even with ford mechanics researching it. I Believe this should be repaired by Ford for free. It needs to be a recall. Does anyone have any insight on this?

I have this same issue right now. It’s fuse #13 under the dash that controls the cruise control and the ac. Mine will work until after I put it in drive then it blows the fuse. Have switched out the relay and unplugged the compressor and still blows.

3rd brake light was burned out on mine when I lost cruise. The actual fixture was cracked and small amount of h20 was getting in. Installed a new fixture and all was good.
