Creak when placing truck in gear at a stop
#1
This is one of those noises that just about me. When placing the truck in drive from park or switching from drive to reverse and back, there is an annoying creak from the driver side rear suspension or brakes. It only happens if the service or parking brake is holding the truck. The calipers are new, as are the rotors and the entire parking brakes. Hopefully this video will attach. Any ideas what to look at? It doesn't appear that the axle is turning in the u bolts. The entire lead spring deflects, which I think is normal, but the sound isn't.

Parking brake shoes and all attaching hardware are brand new. It had the same noise before the brake work as it does now. I put the brakes on and adjusted them myself. Absolutely positive the parking brakes are not misadjusted.

Ok, what about suspension bushings? Sometimes they get dried out and need a little grease. My old Jeep would make weird noises and squeaks until I went through it and replaced or greased all the bushings.

Could be. It sounds like it's coming from the axle ends but I suppose the sound could be traveling along the leaf springs.
