Im new to the forum and i need some help. i was trying to look for the speaker that dings every time ur seat belt is off or u put the key in the ignition w/ the door open and i cracked the clear plastic that covers the speedo . does anyone know where i could find a replacement, besides the ford house? & does the entire thing have to be replaced or does the clear plastic come off somehow?
Thanks

as far as i know, that part is only obtainable at the dealer, it's an oem part. read you manual and search for "deactivating belt minder"

You could always visit your local junkyard. I would like to know where that speaker is too, if anyone can tell me. I've already disabled the beltminder... but I want to just pull the speaker, I'm tired of it dinging at me when the door is open or when my headlights are on.

Do you know if you can bypass the connection that tells the module that the door is open? I know on other cars and trucks I've had that you can either cut or loop the wire going to the buckle on the seatbelt. Wondering if you can do the same to the wire that tell the module when the door is open.

if you were to do that, i belive the way it's wired the dome light wouldn't work right...i will look at my manual later, and see if it can be unhooked...i got my doubts, but i'll find out

Hey thanks man...any info would be appreciated! Seems to me that unless the module that controls the dinger also controls the interior lighting I should be able to bypass it going to the dinger module. But what do I know...lol...I took civil engineering not mechanical or electricial.

P.S.
Noticed you reply to allot of posts...are you a mechanic for ford or something?

nope....but i am gonna be having my own shop next year (nothing huge, 2 bays, 1 lift all air, heated, ac, cable, wifi), just a side business for some extra cash and a good reason to convice the future wife into buyin more tools . one of those kids who got a remote control car for christmas and instead of playing with it first, i tore it apart.......i was just thinking, maybe a guy could just tape over the slit in the module for the alarm...it would still be there but real faint

LOL....yea I was one of those kid's too. Taping the module would help if I could find the darn thing. Do you know if its in the steering column or how to get to it?
