cranks not wont fire up
Ok guys, I have had this issue before, twice actually. A few months ago I went to start the truck and it would turn over but not fire. It would continue to crank and not start, I know this is something ford did in the newer trucks. It was throwing any codes, so I replaced the spark plugs and it fired up and ran fine for a few months. Well today, it did the same thing. I messed with the fuel inertia switch and would start, run rough, and die off. It now started all of a sudden but it throwing a code. Not wanting to take it to the stealership so have them charge me just to run the codes and try and sell me on crap. Any ideas? I was thinking coils, but those are fairly new.

Many parts stores will check codes for you, the code is the key, the truck is trying to tell you what's wrong.

Spray ether into the intake snorkel.
If it starts but dies you have a fuel issue.
THe MOST likely (but not only) cause for this issue on these trucks is the brain trust who designed it put the cast aluminum fuel pump driver module mounted on a steel crossmember over the spare tire.
It rots out, and eventually dies.
What you're describing are classic symptoms of this.

Both good points.
Best deal you'll find on an OEM FPDM, http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/4l...r=4L3Z*9D370*A

OK, so I took it to advanced and had them pull the code and it showed it was the Fuel Pressure Sensor. Bought one and replaced it, check engine light was gone and ran fine. Went outside while at work to try and start it, and its doing the same thing again and the check engine light popped back on, beeped, and started flashing. Still think its the FPDM?

Yes. The FPDM will drive you nuts with fuel pressure readings. The sensor is fine, it's reporting the pressure it's seeing. The system is reporting the low/high pressure because the driver module isn't maintaining proper pressure in the system.

I should have told you to post codes before you bought parts.
They read codes for free because it's an easy way to get you to buy parts, when the sensor that's reporting the problem is most likely only reporting the problem, not being the problem.
