Check the connection on that sensor it could be loose/corroded. Another thought have you checked the battery, if your commute is that short it might not be fully charging the battery, Just a thought.

^ the clicking actually made me think about the battery, a couple weeks ago my 2010 expedition went dead as well, jump start would not do anything and had tons of clicking going on from the passenger side kick panel, turned out to be the battery. Changed it, no more issues.

I would be looking into that battery as well. Check the cables for corrosion, and make sure they are tight, at the battery and at the starter.
