Cracked manifold and pin bolts on one side, should I swap to headers
I left the truck at my local workshop a few days ago for a manifold swap on the passenger side due to a crack in it.
Turns our there is a crack in one of the pin bolts and they now need to remove the top and replace the pin bolts too.
I live in Sweden and we do get long and cold winters, and with that comes a lot of cold starts.
So my Idea, since this will already mean tearing off alot of stuff, is to get som aluminum headers and replace them both, since the other one most likely will crack some day too.
Still waiting on a qoute to just replace the passenger side with an OEM manifold and also on replacing them both with headers.
Is it a hard job to do your self?
I'm not a mechanic, but I know my way around a car.
What would you do?
Remember, I do live in Sweden so parts a few and there was just a few in Stockholm that would touch this job. Most of the mechanics I talked to just laughed and told me to go some were else..
