I have seen long crank start due to crank sensor in BMW world. What I'm thinking is the temperature difference between a cold morning versus warm engine effects the resistance of your crank sensor, enough that the PCM has a hard time defining if it's there.

Since you already have one you should replace it.

If that doesn't work I think the next thing would be coils and then a fuel pressure test after that.

I"ll give it a shot if it ever stops raining in the north east. I do have all new COP"s by the way
