It is one thing when you get a vehicle with a problem, it is another when you get a vehicle someone has already attempted to fix, or screwed up an attempted fix.
my suggestion? Bring lots of money, there isn't going to be a flat rate on this, they are going to charge you actual hours.
you are asking them to do basically VCT replacement labor and deal with any screw ups
once you are that far in I would have them do the vct's as a preventative measure since you are that screwed.
I am pretty sure that the OP is the one that had did the work on getting the Cam Position Sensor part out that fell in the engine. He has had a thread on it and had a lot of members walked him through getting the work done, he just found that he had timing issues afterwards and now is asking to for an estimate to get it fixed. Be it because he doesn't want to go back in himself or he does not feel he has the knowledge or confidence to fix it himself is his business.
OP, personally, I think you can go back in and get it timed yourself without turning it in to a dealership, you have gone through most of the process already, just need to do it again and fully remove the valve covers to try to get it right. There are a lot of us that can assist if necessary. Just my 2 cents.
