Default Converting to electric windows/locks...

I have an 04 F-150 that was not blessed with power locks or windows. Has anyone ever converted theirs? Just tryin to see how difficult and costly it is. Thanks!

I would contact the dealer if I were you. It might turn out to be a pretty hefty price but good luck with it.

Default Power Windows

Back in June when I was looking for a different truck, one didn't have power windows and I found a kit on Ebay for a few hundred $$ as I remember (didn't pay a whole lot of attention to it at the time). Where the old window cranks were, they just plugged the holes. the arm rests were replaced along with adding the mechanisms on the windows.
I think it said the wiring was already in the doors, but as I eventually bought a XLT I didn't pursue it any further.

I didn't see anything on power locks so no idea on those.

Might be easier to find some doors and just change out the whole thing and get it all done at one. Just a thought.

adding keyless is quite simple, all you need to do is mount the security model and mount the actuators on the lock rod, wire them reverse polarity and it's done.

if you can get the door panels, regulators, all the wiring, you can add the power windows with some work and chasing wiring diagrams. if you have to buy it all new, i would just get a kit and use that, would be your cheapest option. there are tons of kits, just one i saw on ebay

for the work involved, i would even attempt to go with oem parts. i have used a 50 dollar kit on ebay for years on my old ranger and had zero issues, with it. i don't know if ford sells an aftermarket kit or not

my kit was identical to this one, but the key fobs didn't look so weird. i also had my tailgate lock wired into that too.

I have an 04' STX SuperCab, if you would like to follow the entire installation process will be posted shortly. I bought the STX b/c it was $6k cheaper than the XLT sitting right next to it at the dealer. Throughout the next few weeks i will be installing door panels from a FX2/FX4 Supercab with the entire wiring harness from a 06' XLT 4 crew cab. The panels found on craigslist (south Florida), the wiring harness which was very strenuous to remove, i bought at a Junk yard in Poinciana/ Kissimmee, FL. I'm at $400 cash. I will keep everyone posted.
