Default Computer Relearning

Once i replace my transmission does the computer relearn the new one on its own through mileage or does it have to be tuned? Also what gets effected? Possibly Idle?
Thanks

No tune needed as long as it's rebuilt to stock spec. it will relearn parameters on its own after a few drive cycles. Idle will probably be biggest thing you notice due to the drive by wire system. It may even die once or twice while relearning. Nothing to really be concerned about.

Thank you for responding on this. I am noticing an idle that is a little rougher than before the install. I also noticed when backing up it hesitated and I had to put my foot into it a little bit more. I put a jasper in that is to ford specs but since this is my first time changing one out I don't know what to expect. How long or roughly how many miles should it take to relearn? It's been 150 miles so far

You need to read up on a complete drive cycle.. certain parameters need to be met..

I looked it up and it seems to be an emissions test with code problems. None of which I have. By doing the test will it complete the task that I need?
