As others have stated above, replace your serpentine belt and while you're at it, check all of your pulleys, particularly the tensioner. If you're in a place where salt is used on the road, I'd almost guarantee that your lock that protects your spare is seized

Thanks a lot guys, replaced the FPDM this winter, did the 100k tune up last fall so all other aspects been covered besides belt and pulley, thanks for the heads up

And I just bought brand new 33s so I just completely took the spare off as it was even smaller than stock size tires lol

Take a look and if it is damaged, get a new one from Amazon or parts store and replace before it fails.

Hey, thanks a lot. I never knew there could ever be a possible problem with that. But you're right on about the two different types of metal.
I have a 2013 Lariat, 4X4, super cab. I've had a 2003 and a 2007 Lariat in past. So, one is always learning about something new from this forum. Again thank you.

In that mileage range I had to replace both front wheel bearings.

Pjb what kind of climate do u live in? And do u tow or push snow or anything with your truck?

Northeast so we get snow and salt.


I occasionally tow, usually just a 4x8' trailer, nothing too extreme and I don't plow with it.


Most of the miles on my truck are highway miles, driving 50 miles round trip to and from my old job.


Wheel bearings are easy to change and only $80 on ebay, not a big deal at all.


In the 85k Ive owned it (currently at 133k) the most major repair I had to get done was new bearings in the rearend at 96k and that was most likely due to an overtightened pinion nut from when I had the pinion seal replaced earlier.


Right now my truck needs an ac compressor bearing (just gonna get the whole compressor replaced) because it whines and Ive noticed the limited slip unit in the rear mostly likely needs replacing because it drags a little although that might be the bigger tires, not really sure.
