Default Cold Air Intake and Exhaust

Looking for suggestions on what type of C.A.I. I should buy??? I have been on Ebay and see a lot of K&N, S&B, and Volant C.A.I. systems. What do you all think I should go with???????

06 Lariat Crewcab 5.4L stock. I have done absolutely no mods whatsoever. I'm working to improve fuel mileage, but increase performance at the same time. I have the stock 20" rims and tires.

While on the subject, what type of exhaust is recommended? I see alot of the flowmaster 40. I'm looking for that "MILD/MED" sound. I don't want the loud hot rod sound. I was either going to buy a pre-fab side exit system before the rear wheel, or just buy a stand-alone muffler and take it to a local shop and have them pipe it before the rear wheel.

All suggestions are greatly appreciate!!!!!

flowmaster will be loud unless you get a 50 delta or higher...You could get a magnaflow which a lot of guys like because it is much more mellow than the flowmaster. I have a volant on mine and love it. Check out my pics to see how it looks. You will want a custom tune to get the most performance and MPG's from your CAI and Exhaust.

I have been using K&N cold air intakes for about 2 years and I am trying to switch in Injen AEm or K&N intakes. Will keep you on updated on pics.

I just put a S&B kit on mine last week, and I really like it. The kit was so easy to install it wasn't funny. Going Friday to get true duals with dynomax bullets put on.

Not sure about the CAI but I just got a Thrush from JEGS for $30 and I think it sounds as good or better than the Flo 40's. IMO its not as "noisy" and has no drone. Just right

I use this combo and works very well...Flowmaster delta 50 series/AIRAID CAI/EDGE Programmer...I did install a TBS at the same time as the CAI, but can't tell you if it works or not...

Personally, i run an aFe stage II and love it. felt a big difference in power, and actually a little better hp. for exhaust, go with a flowmaster 40 or 50 series, i had one on my old bronco, and it was too loud, but pretty clean.

Two questions on the same subject this week? One was brought back to life from a search.
