Default Cold Air Intake in cold environemnt recommended or not

I live in Canada and it gets down to -20c (-4F) in the winter and in summer it gets up to 30c (80F). I have been looking at cold air intakes for my 08 f150 FX4 but am not sure if it would be good for my vehicle or not.

Does living in a colder environment mean that the cold air intake is not as useful. Or will I still get increased performance. I'm admit I'm not a full on gear head so I figured I'd ask some of you who likely are.

Anyone know the deal on CAI in colder environments.

The stock intake already pulls from the fender, so It's already getting "cold air". If anything, most aftermarket units that draw air from under hood are hot air intakes.
