Yea you can get a Gryphon and not get it custom tuned right away. That kinda sounds like it might be the way to go for you. If you had any specific questions, you might email or call them over at php, or they also have a discussion forum for people with questions about Gryphon and custom tuning. Youre in good hands, Bill helped develop the Edge Programmer, plus he's done tons of these trucks so he knows what he's doing. Only downside is they keep pretty busy.

yeah but wouldnt it be better to just get it customized for my truck instead of canned, i think thats what its called, if im getting it, why not just do it right now. just asking

Well i guess if its going to be awhile before you get headers then I guess it makes sense... If i were you I would call/email/forum post to Bill over at PHP. He will be able to give you a lot better advice/info on custom tuning than anybody on this forum.
