you obviously don't know anything about aftermarket parts. Do you really think the stock intake is getting a lot of air being jammed into the fender? Look at any cold air intake test and there is always a performance increase. Also, the baffles do impede it because it is just like increasing power with a new straight pipe exhaust.

Mhmm. It's your truck. Enjoy, and welcome.

1 the truck come stock with a CAI.
2 to actually see any performance from more air, you MUST have better exhaust. Trying to cram a bunch of air into the truck without giving it a better escape route does NOTHING! A CAI on these trucks will improve the performance so minimally that you would never notice it in a 1/4 mile, towing, or MPG. Maybe see some very slight changes on a tuner or dyno if you watch very close. In turn you will never see any actual return on your money from this project. Sorry.

Exactly. Doing pretty much anything without a tuner won't improve much because the engine is computer controlled. We aren't in the days when a CAI on a carburetor worked magic anymore. Can a CAI provide "more" air? Maybe. Will the truck use it? Nope. Everything down to the butterfly valve inside the throttle body is all computer controlled. With a CAI, exhaust, AND a tune, you probably will see some increase, but that's mostly because of the tune, not the CAI and exhaust. Here's a good way to test. Have your exhaust done. Then get a tuner and a good tune. Test the numbers. Then switch the stock CAI to an aftermarket CAI. Test again. Did the numbers go up? Maybe a few HP, but most likely less than 15. Considering what the tuner and tune already added, that measly 15hp at WOT is moot.

Do whatever makes you sleep better at night. Your mind is obviously made up thinking that your truck will perform better with an aftermarket CAI than to listen to us. You'd be better off putting money towards a tuner, but I digress... It's your truck. At least you can show everybody that it looks good.

I think most of you are missing the point...he got it for FREE. Total out of pocket for him so far is 15 bucks. Hell, I'd probably be slapping on a CAI for 15 lol Im not in no way defending that it will actually do anything, but for 15 bucks, can you really, honestly say that you wouldn't be putting one on your truck?? If you say you wouldn't, you're a damn liar. But I digress, honestly, the best course of action is to sell it for a decent return

I would not. Too loud, they don't actually suck "cold air", and zero / minimal performance gains.
