Don't forget about the oil residue pulled out of the filter and giving your intake tract a nice oily coating that attracts dirt and fouls the MAF wires, etc.
Skip the K&N, stick with a good paper filter. Take that money and buy:
- 6 bottles of techron (a years worth)
- A fumoto oil plug valve (easy oil changes)
- Mercon V and a trans filter and trans pan with drain plug
- A new paper air filter
- A professional detail job
Adds up to about the same money.
