One member here did a search, and posted threads on the topic; that was helpful.

Looking to add a cold air intake to my truck. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what brand/model. I have always been partial to KN but their products always demand a premium. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, those who have one installed, did you notice any improvements in performance? If so what were they? Thanks!

Sorry op for hijacking your thread, that was not my intention. I was genuinely curious. As to your post I have been a die hard fan of kn. I haven't seen a dyno chart for the gotts mod. (I didn't do a search) but kn brought 19 more hp to the wheels and there is a dyno chart for that. They stand behind their products. And it doesn't look like someone Frankensteined it.

they're also notorious for making the engine run too lean if you don't have the engine tuned... so you're now looking at like $600-700 when you could've just bought a $300 tuner and built your own CAI (Gotts) for $20

Have you ever looked at the stock intake? It is a CAI btw. Food for thought.

Even that's easy to do without getting a factory CAI. Make the Gotts, then wrap it with metal HVAC tape. Might look like crap, but it'll work.
