Question Cold air induction!

Hi everyone!
This is my first time posting here and I have a question. I have an 05 fx4 and would like to start doing some minor mods. The first thing I had in mind is a cold air induction. I need some honest opinions on which brand is the best as far as performance and ease of installation. Also do they increase hp and fuel economy as they say they do? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I might also add that I have to work for a living, as many of you do, so money is very limited. This is the reason I am asking for help, so I don't waste money experimenting on useless products. Thank You! -Scott-

If you throw a CAI in and drive, you won't notice much of a difference, if any. Once you supplement it with a tuner, then you start to notice a bigger difference.

In your position, I'd research the 'Gotts Mod" and see how that works out for you. It's basically free, and has the same effect as a CAI for the most part.

I would recomend the gotts mod (check crashtechs sticky out at the top of the page) and get a programer. I recomend the the edge evolution if your wanting to keep the price down. I have the gotts mod with a kand n air filter along with the edge evolution and it made a huge power difference.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thank you spec ops57 and Turkey hunter for your replies. I really appreciate it. I am going to to try the Gotts Mod for now and when I get the money I may upgrade to somethging else to get rid of all the unsightly plastic.
