Default coil packs and plugs, who's is better

I am getting all new cop's and plugs for my 5.4. Who makes good ones and who has bad ones.

FYI.... Dont waste your money on aftermarket COP's.. just stick with the Motorcraft ones. My speed shop guy has dyno'd both the stock ones and multiple aftermarket COP's including the ones from troyer. He said they are not worth the money and they tend to go bad much faster than the OEM's. Unless you have upgraded your entire ignition system to a vigh voltage system you will not see much if any improvement. With this motor being as finiky as it is i would stick with OEM motorcraft plugs and COP's....Maybe try the brisk's one piece but i have heard mixed reviews on them.

Also, why are you getting new COP's? Are some bad or are you just doing it for the hell of it? New plugs will defininatly help but make sure you know everything about them breaking off if you have a 2004-early 2008 5.4 engine.

Some are going bad and im getting tired of chasing them down everytime one goes. I know about them breaking. I put plugs in the truck awhile back so I should be safe.

Are you testing the COP before you get new ones? It could just be a boot. If the boot is dry and crack it will not work that well. you can get boots cheaper than COP. I would start with Plugs if it was me.

I took a chance and bought 8 COPs on Ebay for $100. So far they are working great

I wouldn't buy aftermarket COPs. Sometimes, Ford has already done it best. With COPs, you can't beat the factory pieces.

they are easy enough to change, i figured if they didn't work I would be out a little bit of labor and $100. if they do work, which so far they have, then I saved myself a boatload of money
