Default CLOYES 90391SB Timing tensioner's seals

Anyone have any experience with the CLOYES 90391SB kit? I was about to order this off amazon and I saw a few people complaining they had to redo it because the timing chain tensioner seals provided with the kit leaked. Is there anything I can do to prevent this or should I just order the OEM ones?

I used that kit, just over 5000 miles with no issues.

I had those and had to redo the job because of bad dorman phasers around 6K miles. When I took off the tensioner the oring was pushed in. The ford unit does not have an oring it's more of a sealant/ gasket. I would go back with ford parts if at all possible.

25k / 2 years on my Cloyes kit. No complaints and oil pressure at 32psi during hot idle with 5-20 syn blend.

And if I recall, unless FMC updated their part number, their tensioner is prone to failing also due to the seal design. 6 in one, half dozen in the other.

I put close to 50K miles on my Cloyes kit. It held good oil pressure up to when I traded the truck in a few months ago...I do believe that FoMoCo did update the tensioner design in '08. F6AZ-6L266-CA and F6AZ-6L266-DA are cast iron and have a ratchet system to hold them out.
