Default Clicking/Wood Pecker Noise

I have done some searching but can't find a thread with same noise I am having. A couple days ago while slowing down and accelerating I would hear a clicking or wood pecker type noise on the driver side of my truck. It sounds like it is by the fire wall. It also does it sometimes right after I start the truck or a couple seconds then stops until I am accelerating or slowing down again. I took it to the shop yesterday but of course it didn't make the noise when I had it there. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I have 04 5.4L Screw. Thanks

just a thought, if you set your climate control **** to the middle temperature setting, and set it to floor and vents you might be hearing a short or click noise, search this forum, there's stuff on it....

It does it with or without the ac on. It sounds like it is coming from the far left of the dash under the window.
