Every time I touch the eccelerator light or heavy, I get two or three of these ticking sounds from underneith the truck. No other ecoboost owners I've talked to have this problem. The only thing I can think of is that it may have to do with the exhaust moving when eccelerating.

I've been dealing with same exact issue...

Seems as tho this thread has pretty much died, but i'll give this a try anyways.
My f150 is a 4.6L '97 extended cab. It currently has 292052 miles on it. Its the definition of USED. It runs pretty nicely considering the milage and what its been through. I have a similar problem with the clicking. However, it does have some significant differences. Mine will click around 30-45 mph. But its not a constant clicking/ticking. its one single click and when it does click you can feel the accelerator loosen up for about a half a second and push forward a bit. Like i said this truck has been through a lot. It used to be my dad's old work truck. I bought it from him for $400. When i got it i brought it to someone me and my dad know named brad. I'm not too savvy with vehicles, so i prefer to let others handle the work. He changed the Spark Plugs and wires, Fixed 3-4 oil and transmission leaks, and changed out the oil and did some other small maintenance stuff. He said that when he went to change the oil, it just globbed out and was very nasty looking. He said there was no metal shaving or anything like that in it, but apparently when my dad had it he never changed the oil, because he figured since it leaked 90% of it out there was no point. obviously, not correct. So brad emptied out the oil and put what he said was very nice high dollar castrol synthetic oil (as i said, i'm not that great with vehicles, so i'm not actually sure of the viscosity or anything like that of the oil, but it is running much better.) It still hesitates from time to time, but she usually stops if i let off the accelerator for a second. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure that the accelerator is connected to a metal cable that controls the throttle, so i think it might just be some slack in the line catching or something.
