Brake Clean on a throttle body [MENTION=185575]Eco Tuner[/MENTION]??? They make throttle body specific cleaners for a reason. There is a coating on the TB that some cleaners can harm.

I agree, use only TB cleaner on our coated TB's. Brake cleaner may be fine but why take the risk?

I did this same procedure this weekend when my newly purchased used F150 threw the P0506 code. I took off the throttle body and cleaned the heck out of it with throttle body cleaner. After that I took off the negative battery cable for an hour and the CEL hasn't come back on. Hopefully first issue solved. I hope yours is fixed as well.

If it is a coated TB then absolutely. The vast majority of OEM TB's are cast aluminum un-coated body with a brass or aluminum blade and brake clean is fine, but if your in doubt, dont risk it. TB cleaner is not expensive.
