If you get the thing working, you can get this charger on Amazon. It basically sits nearly flush with no need to do a proper mod. You retain the cigarette lighter jack for times when you may need it later, plus you get 2 fast charging ports.

I'm aware of what type of fuse is, I'm just confused on why it ever worked if there was no fuse there...

Could not have... unless somebody wired it up to somewhere else.

I used it everyday to charge my phone up until a couple days ago when it stopped working. Maybe I'll take apart the dash and see if it's wired to somewhere else.

Plus you're not limited in current. As long as you keep a working 12v you can pop in any of the micro ones (including those with quickcharge capabilities). Whereas with the 12v usb replacements now, I've only found one that does 2x2.4a ports, and that is quickly becoming an aged spec.

Are you talking about the lower center outlet (that has the cigarette lighter element), or the "Accessory" outlet at the upper right of the dash?

Anyone know how to get the 12v socket out from the dash on a 2018?
