You have to use a tough flexible glue, so that they don't break again when pressure of any kind is applied to it, although I don't see how it happens. Mine was already broken when I bought it used, I fixed it and it's been good so far. I don't even apply force to it when I shift, not that it's a manual stickshift!
Anyway, I used Welder from Walmart. It's in a silver/aluminum tube, clear gel-like, needs time to cure, best to leave overnight. It's tough and flexible and can tolerate some flexing when cured. I use it for many applications, including glueing down an add-on lip spoiler to the front bumper for a previous car. Also used it for shower installations, and many broken interior parts in my vehicles.
