I think he wants to remove the entire surface of his chrome package wheels. the early versions were polished aluminum, the later ones (I believe starting in 07) are plastic cladding. A lot of manufacturers are doing this now, for cost and longevity. As long as you keep up on keeping the brake dust off they look great, but if not the dust will eat into them (as well as aluminum). You should not have any trouble finding a taker for your wheels, then you can apply the green to the 20's you want.

I have the 18" wheels with the Chrome pkg wheels. They are a allum. wheel with a full plastic chromed cover. When I looked close it looks like the wheel under it is a stock allum. wheel with a clear coat. I was trying to see if anyone has tried to remove the chrome cove and what does the wheel under it look like.
