Default Chirping at low speeds

Hi all,

I have had some chirping on the passenger side of my truck. I believe it to be in the rear. It is loudest at low speeds and is proportionate to my speed. It goes away when I press or even tap the brakes. I had my brakes checked and the pads/rotors look fine. I did notice my e-brake shoes and actuators had gone bad, those have been fixed but the chirping is still there. I had thought maybe a lack of grease but they seem fine. The calipers don't seem to be hanging up but I guess its still possible. Any ideas?

The pads were new when I got the truck a year and a half ago, and the rotors are about 8mths old. I'd say 10-12k max on the pads.

i have the same problem. goes away when i press the brakes (even very slightly) and also when i press the accelerator (also even slightly). its a constant squeaking or chirping like you described that occurs the loudest at low speed and gets faster or slower depending on my speed, but once i go fast enough it seems to go away.

It sounds like it might be the tailgate. My 06 does squeaks/chirps like that if I don't SLAM the tailgate. It has been like this since new. It's likely it is squeaking at all speeds, you just can't hear it. Also, some lubrication helps.

I friend who used to work at a brake shop told me to check the backing plate, the thing sheet metal behind the rotor. he says they can get bent easily by a rock or stick and will squeak. I'm gonna go ahead and give that a shot. The only other thing I can think of is maybe my u joint.

i was just thinking about that, had it happen on my last car but it made more of a grinding/ squeaking noise but ill try bending it back a little and see what happens, my second guess was also the u-joint. Hope its just the back plate
