Default Check Gauges - Temp Gauge not working and A/C blowing hot

My 2006 5.4 temp gauge on the dash is no longer working (all the way to the left below zero). It happened randomly while driving and gave me the loud chime and "Check Gauges" is now on all the time.

The engine is not overheating, but right when this happened, my A/C stopped blowing cold air.

Anybody else have this issue? I am assuming there is a sensor somewhere that has gone bad?

I had a similar issue that has gotten progressively worse. First few times I was able to fix it but now its shot.

Do a gauge sweep....hold down the odometer reset button, then turn the key to ACC. Once the digital display area show "check gauges", release the odometer reset button and all the gauges will do a sweep and a bunch of clicking. Hopefully that will fix it.

I had an issue similar in my XLT. When driving, all my gauges would zero out and the AC would start to blow cold. I would tab the dash above the AC vent to the right of the steering wheel and it would all reset and and AC would blow cold again. Ended up being a fault in the cluster. Some pulled theirs apart and re soldered and worked fine. I just found a cluster that's odometer almost exactly matched mine was and swapped them. It has been over a year with no re occurrence

This is now happening to me, and I've replaced the cylinder head temp sensor (which is what the code says) and the instrument cluster and it's still doing it.
