Mine has been doing it too, but only when I leave the key in the "on" position for any longer than a second. If I crank it right up I don't get that message. I believe it does some system checks if you leave the key in the "on" position for a few seconds, and during that time it notices things like the fact that there's no oil pressure, and then beeps and shows "check gauges" for all of a split second when you fire it up. Pretty sure it's normal based on what I've read on other forums.
