Default cheapest place for pads/rotors

So I've been doing some online research. I need new pads/rotors all the way around on my truck. 6 lug, 2004, 5.4 4wd. And I'm shocked to say this but, autozone is the cheapest place to get them from. Rock auto has a kit for $200 but it's $40 shipping on top of that. Advanced is way too much. Same with pep boys. I could piece together the parts from rock auto for about $270. Autozone, getting the cheapest duralast stuff, is only $224. Any other places to look at before I commit to az?

In the way of brakes, cheapest is not always the way to go, so make sure you'r getting OEM type quality.

The rotors are heavy, so that's most likely the reason for high cost shipping that makes the total cost of the "kit" so high. Have you considered buying the rotors locally, and then the pads online? Would there be any significant reduction in cost to you if you went this route?

The stock rotors are garbage. I put the brakemotive kit off eBay on, with drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads, and they have been great. Picking up a set for the wife's car also.
Whatever you end up getting, make sure to follow the burnishing process to get them seated, and to last longer.

Can't go wrong with the Brakemotive drilled/slotted rotor and pad kit from ebay. Quality product and great price. I've had them on my truck for about 8 months and they work great, and so far the plating on the rotors has kept them from rusting even with all the salt they use on the roads up here.

Slotted and/or drilled rotors are great, especially if you are towing, or are extreemly hard on your brakes. Otherwise, they are overkill for a person that simply "daily drives" their truck, with an occasional haul to the dump, or tows a light trailer.

Slotted rotors assist in removing gasses that can build up on a rotor, and drilled help keep them cooler if the brakes are applied often, and under extreme use.

But, if you have the extra coin, or want the "cool" factor, buy them.

I've had Brakemotive pads and rotors on for 2 years now and zero issues. Best price hands down and a great product.

well I went with the duralast stuff from autozone. They gave me an additional 20% off so I got everything for $180. Couldn't pass up that deal.
