Cheap foglight DIY mod for bumpers w/o factory lights
For you guys without factory foglights I found a neat project. I recently put on a bull bar that required me to remove the skid plastic from under the bumper as the bull bar would not fit with it on. Removing the plastic reveals 2 perfect mounts for some neat looking foglights.
I painted the mounts black so they wouldn't stand out so much. The foglights bolted on through the center hole and fit perfectly. All you need to do is wire it up. I attached my wiring diagram if anyone needed. $10 for paint, $10 for foglights (amazon prime). Also used miscellaneous wire and electrical connections I had lying around. Easy Peasy.

My only observation is the angle of the fog lights; they appear to be pointing to the left/right of the road, and not straight ahead.
Perhaps a longer bolt/nut on the outer side of each with a tube type spacer to align them straight? Plastic tube spacers at any hardware store can be easily cut to get a straight ahead alignment.
Kudos for the correct way in which you wired them!

Output is decent, they are cheap lights that kinda act like the daytime LED's that newer cars have but just a tad bit better. Haven't really tested them out on a night drive yet however.

I'd like to see how the beam is formed, as well as the output, whether it's a spot with a little flood or a direct flood. Fogs are meant to "fill in" where your headlights don't shine, so underneath and close to the front of the vehicle, so you can see road markers when visibility sucks. If they're putting a wall of flood light, that's no good when you need them.

I have a Westin bull bar on my 06 and didn't have to remove the plastic. Attachment 457992 that's strange that you had to remove yours but it must be because of the brand.
