I'm not familiar enough with the wiring to be able to answer that, but there has to be a sensor somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised to learn it was your instrument cluster. I've seen many a thread on here with failing instrument clusters causing false alerts.

Sorry to be so snippy in my last post. It's just I'm 67 years young, owned Fords all my life and for the most turned my own wrenches and this problem is really bugging me. My wifes Jeep is in the shop for some minor issues ($500 worth) and the last thing I need now is to pay someone else to fix my truck. Is it possible that although the alt is putting out 14.3 volts is it possible it's not sending the signal to the dash? Just thinking out loud. Also I really appreciate everyone's input here. It's a great site.

I would have the altenator load tested also, you can have volts but when you put a load on the system it can short the altenator out, IE... amp draw
I work with power everyday on the main cable line and there is a thing we call "ghost voltage". You can check it with a meter on volts all day long and be good, in our case 90 volts, but as soon as a large load is applied (amp draw) everything goes to hell. It is always in our case a short on the system somewhere.
