Default Charging Issue (SOLVED)

OK the battery light on my 05 F150 SCREW came on yesterday. My edge evo programmer showed 0 amps when running. I assumed it was the alternator but today I checked amperage while running with a VOM. It's a steady 14.3 amps telling me the alt is putting out just fine. I must mention whenI started checking things I notices a lot of corosion build up on the battery connections. I pulled them thoroughly cleaned them and used vinegar to disolve the acid build up. So far the dash light hasn't come back on but the edge still shows 0 amps while running. Is it possible something has happened to the programming on the edge? Do I need to update the programmer software? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
EDGE PROGRAMMER NOW SHOWING AMPS! DROVE IT THIS MORNING AND IT STARTED AT 14.7AMPS. AS I DROVE IT, THE AMPS DROPPED. SETTING THE DRIVEWAY I REVED AND SLOWED IT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME IT DROPPED. FINALLY AT 14.1AMPS I SHUT IT OFF. THE ALTERNATOR IS APARENTLY THE CULPRIT. I'LL PROBABLY ORDER A NEW ONE FROM ROCKAUTO. A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HELPED! ONCE THE EDGE STARTED RESPONDING IT WAS EASY TO DIAGNOSE.

Try disconnecting the edge from the OBII port and plug it back in...disconnect it with power off...then start the truck ...turn it off reconnect the edge and re-start...see if that does it..

I've done that no change. Just returned from the mechanics shop. Load test on battery was good and a solid 14.3 amps from alt when running. Edge isn't plugged in and I still get batt symbol on dash gauges and message center shows to check charging circuit. The serp belt is fine also. I'm open for suggestions.

Start by learning the difference between amps and volts.

The mechanic verified that the alternator is working, and that you see 14.3 volts at alternator; this is good. What do you see at the battery?

Maybe a bad fusable link between the alternator and the battery??

im sure you own a multimeter... read vdc at the batt with truck off .. should be over 12vdc.. start your motor.. read vdc at the batt.. should be over 14vdc.. now you know if your Alt is working and your batt is good .
