Something weird happened today...
So I just got home after driving for about an hour and a half and when I pulled into the driveway and put it in park, the truck started to shake like crazy and there was a loud noise from the engine that sounded like the cam phaser rattle. I gave it a little gas and then when it went back to idle the shake and noise was gone. Now I have not had any cam phaser issues and the only code I have is for the FPDM, which hasn't caused me any problems.
Any ideas?

When the FPDM is going out, there can be weird shaking from the truck not running right. Check the condition of the FPDM. It just needs to be replaced.

I have a ****ty a/compressor on my 08 4.6 that when running at idle shakes like a mother baboon on cocaine, and after a minute or so it starts making a weird sound untill finally it starts shaking the tensioner puley so hard that it rattles. maybe the same??

I'm still leaning towards the FPDM.

A faulty FPDM could certainly cause the engine to run rough. If the RPM's drop too low the engine won't produce enough oil pressure for the phasers to operate properly causing all kinds of noise. I had my truck almost stall out on me once and the noise from the engine bay made me think I threw a rod or something but it was just the phasers clacking (as far as I know), that was over two years ago and haven't had any lasting effect.

I agree with checking/replacing FPDM. Saves the money on a tow if u dont fix it and get stuck on side of he road.
