How do you get by the plastic sheild under the oil filter in the 2008 F-150. Went to change my oil and could not figure out how to the the filter out with the plastic sheild there.

If you have the 5.4 as I do in my 05,and the filter location is the same,you don't have to remove any shield to remove the filter. I use a cap that goes over the filter end combined with a 3/8 swivel and an extention and 3/8 ratchet to remove my filter.

For the very first change i had to remove the plastic i dont remember how, but if you get the cap thing from autozone that goes over the filter itl come right off
