Tell your friend to change the oil also. Use 5W-20. Wait. 5W-30

Aw sh*t, just buy a Chevy. Then he won't have to use Motorcraft for sure.

Wow, a lot of people getting butt hurt in this thread. He narrowed it down to those 2 because he doesn't want to have an issue with them breaking again. I kind of agree with him. I'd rather change them more often than have to worry about them breaking off again in the future. So he wants a one piece plug instead of one with a "better" crimp. If Motorcraft offered a 1 piece, he get them, but from what we could find online, I didn't see any.

Ford did make a ****ty plug in the 1st place, so I can see why he is leery of the newer version.

I would probably stay away from the E3's in these engines. Poor reviews on Amazon and I have seen other negative post on here from people. Never heard anything on the others.

The only butthurt one appears to be you. Everyone else is laughing about it. You asked people for an opinion, but didn't like the opinion they gave you which was overwhelming, stay with Motorcraft. Lots of threads on here concerning this and bad reviews all around for both the E3 and Champion.

There are also tons of threads and replies to threads saying that the E3's and Champions are fine. Just like there are tons of threads and replies about people using non motorcraft COP's and saying they are good to go.

Do you guys use nothing aftermarket on your trucks?

Then why did you start this thread? Seriously? You had your mind made up to begin with.

No I did not. I was asking about the 2 brands of plugs. I agree that he should use Motorcraft. My suggestion was to use them, add the grease and change them more often if he was worried about it. But it's not my truck, so I can't over rule what he wants.

He wants a 1 piece plug. Those were the only 2 I could find. My truck is an 08, so I don't have the issue with the plugs. So I don't know much about the 2 he wants to use. That's why I came here and asked the question. Not for people to get butt hurt about things. This is why people don't like forums.

Quite a few folks here seem to like the forum just fine. Only ones who don't are the ones who get butt hurt because they don't like the honest answers they get. If you don't like this forum and the responses the knowledgeable members are offering then feel free to leave. I promise no one will be butt hurt if you do

I know spark plugs aren't going to improve mpg's or add hp like some companies claim. He wants them because they are a one piece plug. He's worried about the breakage issue the 04-early 08 5.4's had / have. He knows we are going to have to deal with some of them possibly breaking when we change them this time, and doesn't ever want to have to worry about it again. (he did order a Lisle tool to use this time)

I showed him the threads were people say to use the grease when you install the new ones and then you don't have the issue, but he doesn't want to risk it.
