Default is ceramic softer than metal?

ok heres the problem I'm having.while changing the plugs I dropped a pretty good size of the plug down a cylinder.its about 1/2 to 3/4 in length and hole as it is hollow the metal part didn't fall in.anyway my truck is in my bosses garage and he's saying put some seafpoam in it and turn it over?im thinking that's not a good idea I bought a camera and can see it bin their.i guess my question is is it gonna trash my motor?the way these plugs come out I'm sure thiers a few small pieces in their in eache hole well the ones that chipped or so.thanks Ray

Turn the motor over by hand, then hook a small piece of hose to a shop vac and get as much as you can out.

No, just to get it closer to the spark plug hole in the head so you can vacuum it out.

A ceramic such as as a spark plug is one of the hardest substances there is. Don't try to break it up with your engine. It'll be a mistake.

It may take a few trys, but yes, you have to get it out of there. Do NOT start the engine.

There are also slim tools with claws at the ends that may be able to work. Local hardware or work shop. I actually seen one today at a hardware store that would fit. Worth a try..

ok new update...so I went and bought one of those claw tools..it kind of looks like an old style chome with a claw well I used it twice and the head fell of yep the claw is in their with the piece of plug that's about an inch long, after a long day I got them both out.cray I went and bought another claw tool {the same one I broke}and on accident it pulled out the claw part after about 6 hours of trying.and while doing that I figured out how to get the parcial plug out.i used the claw to stand it on end then with a camera and a piece of wire I wedged it in the end getting both pieces out!what a task but I never quit and got her done.
