Centric hubs for 05 f150 rwd fronts--modification
Changed out both fronts so that I could use separate 4wd drive rotor . The original setup required you to change it all if either bearing or rotor bad .
This way you do not need to pull the throw away nut to do brake job (14 bucks each) . . The lug nuts hold the rotor . 4wd drive rotor should be cheaper than the whole assembly . The centric cost was 126 each side with new rotor (amazon) . My bearing was going bad on the passenger side .The passenger side had started to seize on shaft too so I had trouble pulling it(pickle fork helped) . Overall it was not hard .
You will need a 300 pound torque wrench for spindle nut set at 295 pounds . You will need to torque lug nuts 150 pounds . material tool list is .(Harbor freight cheap)
C clamp for caliper pistons .
Impact wrench for lug nuts or breaker bar
21mm or 13/16 socket-- lug nuts
300 pound torque wrench for spindle nut --it usually has 3/4 drive , I used 1/2 drive 150pound torque wrench also .
36mm socket or 17/16 socket for spindle nut .
1/2 to 3/4 adapter
3/4/ to 1/2 adapter
1/2 inch socket wrench
3/8 socket wrench with 1/2 inch socket caliper bolts
18mmm socket to remove pad holder
anti seize for bolt threads and lug nuts
brake part cleaner .
pickle fork for stuck bearing assembly
1+1/2 inch cheater pipe
needle nose pliers
So far I like this modification , I realize the 300 foot pound torque wrench is not easy to find . But when I took off the passenger bad side it was not any where near 295pounds and it was replaced by a shop 80k ago so they did not use one either . Not happy about that .

I really want to do this. It's only been a year and a half since I changed the rotor/hub assy and I'm getting humming from the hubs. I think I paid $95 a side for the assy each side. This would be much better on my wallet in the long run.
