Default 05 JVC Radio Install KW-R900BT

Put up a video just for fun. 1st effort at making a video. So simple to do, really don't need a video but it was fun to learn the Imovie program.

Radio install

Misspelled your title :P. So now it'll show up if someone searched the forum.

Thanks for the video, always helps to have one vs reading text with no visual. You are right though, its straight forward and pretty easy to do.

Soldering and heat shrinking is the best connection. Not really necessary if anyone is wondering since not everyone is sitting on a soldering gun and solder. I've used tiny wire nuts and even have just twisted the wires and tapped. Taping just the wires together failed a couple times over the 5 years I had that install (first one I ever did back in 03 on a 96 sable). Wire nuts and tape worked good. There's also crimp on style you can find at quite a few stores.

That's the other thing as you found in the video. Sometimes have to cut tabs off your kits, some cars will need them and some wont. The 03 Explorer I put one in I had to cut off like 8 tabs before it would fit.

Thanks for the correction on the title!

I looked at some of the new connectors but felt solder and heat shrink was the better choice. Really didn't want to do it twice.

I was surprised at how easy it was. It took longer to edit the video down to 15 mins for YouTube than it did the install. Now both my phone AND my wife phones sync up and here in IL we went to hands free only so that was my main reason to switch out the radio. Found the JVC for $130 or second choice was a nice Bluetooth visor mount for $90 and that made it an easy decision for me. Fit n finish much better!

My first install was an "8-track player" in my 69 Dodge, now that was a PIA!
