Calibrate as soon as possible as standing wave will cook the final transistors on your radio and bake it like a potato. Never trust built in swr meters, they are never right. You want no higher than a 1.5-2 swr on channels 1,15,and 40. Just some friendly advice. I've had base and mobile radios for years

Does anyone know the average SWR calibration and how far off mine might be stock?

SWR has nothing to do with the radio.
You adjust the antenna for SWR not the radio. Most good antennas usually have an average SWR around 2 "out of the box" w/o any adjustment.

I know it involves the antenna... My antenna has a tunable tip to adjust it easily
