Default CB radio install in '06

I just traded my 99 150 in for an 06. Now I'm a country boy through and through and can't live without my cb in my truck. However I can't mount it like I did in my 99. And I'd rather not put holes in my dash panels if I can help it.

Has anyone mounted a cb in this model and made it look clean and sharp? Or does anyone just have any suggestions. I'm open to almost anything right now.

Thanks

Im interested in this also. I got a CB for Christmas from my girlfriends father, but it seems to have screws for mounting, but I don't want to put holes in the truck.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I bet you can help me out here. what is the purpose of a CB? My girlfriends father is all about being prepared for the worst and told me I would need this when all the satellites and cell towers go down one day. True story. But until then, what's a CB for?

OK Country Boys..... There is a metal frame under that plastic dash part under ur steering wheel, If you fallow it all the way down, you will find a 1inch lip of exposed metal... Get your Cb bracket drill 2 holes with a Bit, them add some screw and mount it..

As far as the cable PLEASE PLEASE dont just send the ***** right thru the side of you door. Take the extra 10 minutes and remove your 3rd break light and route the cable thru the side and then down alll the way up to your Cb..

My truck is no redneck Rig, so if ur worried about look..Well no one can really see it but the driver.. most ppl dont even know i have a Cb in my truck. Every one is always surprised to see the mic hanging over my steering column. Ill see if i can get pics of it tomorrow.

I mounted mine on top my dash in that little square box thing. It worked out nicely and looks clean. Got 1 of those retractors and hung it from the overhead console.

I was thinking about that tray under the controls also but when I pulled it out there's framework behind it. How the heck did you mount it in there?

And as far as under the dash, I sit kinda close to my wheel. I'll probably be hitting my feet or knees on it everytime I got in if I put it down there.

I also have the overhead rails that run from front to back. It's probably far-fetched to imagine but I don't guess anyone makes something so it can be mounted up there do they?

I put my cb where the cup holder was... Being how there are so many cup holders in my truck- I figured it wouldn't be a big deal. No holes drilled and it is held in there by the random black cubbie hole. For extra hold you can put double sided tape between them.
I've seen them in the dash on the top panel as well...
