Default Cats

I have an 05 lariat screw 4x4 I was told they have 4 cats mine has 2 so does this mean they have been swapped out?

Not necessarily. Some or most vehicles have "pre-cats" which work almost like "scrubbers" that help cleans the exhaust gases before they hit the actual catalytic converters. If you think yours was swapped out it would be very, very easy to tell just by looking at the exhaust.

My 07 only has 2 cats. I haven't seen one yet with more than that. I see things about more than 2 on here and I'm not sure if these people don't kno what they are looking at or what.

I have an 04 and have 4 cats. Sometime in 05 they stopped putting 4 in there.

The late 05+ trucks only have 2 cats they are round shaped.... 04 & early 05 had 4 cats they are oval/rectangle shaped with a shield over them.

mine has one on each side they are oval shaped with heat sheilds then go into a y pipe and into muffler then 2 out of muffler
