I'm a hater/troll too! I hate that my tax dollars are wasted in the attempt to educate the unwilling [to be educated]. If proper grammer, spelling and punctuation were requied to post, a third of all posts wouldn't make on on the forum. Why have an "i"phone if you aren't an "i"person?
Yes sir, I'm a troll/*****wipe/douche-bag, etc, etc. I've read several more, I'm sure. Posting an insult is the ultimate teen-ager response.
OP- You can do whatever you want with the converters. The choice and consequences are your own.

Could not have said it better myself! You can call me whatever you want. I don't care. You know nothing about power or exhaust yet you send out comments and advice like "I removed my cats and got 10 more hp on the dyno'. BAhahahahaha!!!! Don't you wish. Where's the dyno sheets?

What rage-on uberhater hating unintelligent disrespectful post.

Young guys (usually) like loud things.
Older dudes (usually) like quieter things.
Been going on since the caveman.

While us older dudes would like to impart some of our hard learned wisdom upon the younger, they seem to have a deep rooted desire to screw up first, then realize the error of their ways.
I have found that yelling at and pushing young dudes only makes them dug in their heels.

I have tried to gently suggest you may like something not too loud, and keep the cats.
Now I want to say, cut it all off, straight pipes and let it rip.
Oh, and add one of those train whistles and the sideways wiper squirter.
Man I hate trolls.

i have an idea that will make everybody happy. the way you make it loud for you but quiet for everyone outside, leave the cats alone, pipe the exhaust after the cats into the cab! then just drive around with the windows up so no one else has to hear it.

itll work great, im sure darwin had no idea what he was talking about

in all seriousness tho, removing the cats and mufflers sounds aweful but it will be loud. if you want, leave the cats, just pull the muffler off and dump the exhaust after the cats. see how you like that, you can always pull the cats later. take it from some one who has been there, loud exhaust sucks. i went through all this with my mustang. i learned from my mistakes and im keeping my truck quiet. hp and sound arent related. i was in vegas last week and some guy in an obviously stock 5.4 F150 got pissed my g/f cut him off. he pulled into the lane next to us and floor it. omg ive never heard an f150 that loud. i started laughing my head off when he struggled to pass my g/f's camery when she gave it just the tiniest bit of gas. i wish i had my f150 there. its dead quiet and on 37s but it would walk all over 95% of the f150s on the road.

I'm not against loud exhausts.

I dislike loud exhausts that sound like ***.

I love the setup I had on a truck affectionately known as the "Yellow Peril", a 302 that I bulit up, the exhaust on that was a set of headers into a high flow cat with a Dynomax muffler. Quiet rumble when idling, I could putter around through town without pissing people off, but when I got on it you could really hear it.

Straight pipes on these motors fall into the latter category....they're loud and sound like ***.

Nice sound doesn't have to be LOUD.
Loud sound usually doesn't sound nice.
Back in the day cherry bombs cost like $30.
Try it out with cats, you can always remove them later.
I think you will like the bombs or glasspacks with cats.
The glass packs sound nicer imo, but cost more.
Glad troll man hasn't come back.
