Can't decide 18's or 20's on 33's
Well after having my 2001 XLT crew cab for 7 years I decided to trade her in on a 2008 FX4 crew cab. The last truck was lowered on 22's and this truck I’m going the opposite direction. The truck has the factory 20's with a 275/55/20 tire on it now. I want to run a 33x12.50 but can't decide if I should go 18" or 20" rims? Would like to get everyone opinion. If I remember 33's will fit with out a level kit right?
Thanks Justin

nice trade...you need to decide if you want more or less rubber on the sidewall...18's more 20's less.

Thanks! I get to start all over again. lol. I don't do much off road stuff so wouldn't really need the extra tire. But more side wall might make for a better ride? Need to find a style of rim I like first I guess. If anyone got pics of 18s with 33s or 20s with 33s post um up.

I personally would go with 18's. Especially if you plan on doing any offroading. Airing down with 20's is pretty much worthless because the sidewalls are so small. Plus IMO 20's look stupid with a tire that small.

So maybe like a 18x9. What kind of off set and back spacing should I look at? Im cool with the rims and tires sticking out a little but nothing to crazy. Some pics would be cool.

I Like Tires
Do the 18s you won't be dissappointed. I had the same stock wheels as you just a different hub cap. I told myself when looking at aftermarket wheels that I wouldn't "downgrade" to smaller wheels, but I couldn't justify the price difference in tires. And it turns out I really loved the look of my 33's on 18s. Plus if you going for an offroad look the more meat the better!
