Can the VCT Solenoid cause a P0012 code
I have the most recent VCT solenoids installed.
I just got the P0012 code. As I look through posts, many opinions exist as to its cause.
My question is, can the VCT solenoids and associated oil flow issues cause this code...or is it truly the cam phaser, timing chain overhaul that is needed?
If it can be a VCT sol., I should be able to swap solenoids and either eliminate the code, or get one for the opposite side of the engine, right?
I have 2004 F150 5.4, 110,000 miles
