I can't say with 100% confidence, but I think it can handle the load as long as you don't plan on being the fasted vehicle on the road. My perspective comes from a 04 with 5.4 but I pull a 28' fifth wheel camper weighing in at >9k. It pulls just fine as long as I remember that I am not racing. I couldn't carravan with some diesels in the group but I also wasn't a traffic jam on the interstate.

Thanks for all of your help and opinions! If worse comes worse and I can't find another truck from someone (I still got hope) then I will definitely take it easy when hauling. Come to think of it the 68 Roadrunner has 200 horses and 200 more ft lbs of torque when in trouble Got to love that crate hemi.
