Default Can I have your opinion?

Okay guys so I drive a lariat with the blue/tan color scheme, I am attaching pictures for you to see it. I am contemplating going for the black theme instead of the current chrome theme I have. I am also attaching a picture of one with the black theme to compare against. I am a big fan of the blackout theme and if it was a white or black or any other color truck I would do it for sure, but the blue and tan may be the one color that should stay on chrome. So let me ask first...

1. Should I leave it chrome themed, or black it out? If I go black it should be relatively simple. First I will get a black grill for about 200, and powder my rims semi gloss black for about 500. Then I can take the chrome doorhandles off, and I have already taken my stepbars off because I like the "more ground clearance" look. Lastly I can sell my toolbox or trade it for a black one. So what do you guys think? Chrome or Black?

2. If your familiar with the rim painting process, is powdercoat the sure way to go? Regular painting is half the price but not as durable, but is it durable enough? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I think your truck looks great the way it is.

Thanks Matt.

Any other suggestions are welcome, I think if I don't retheme it to black I will prob do Bilsteins all the way around next. Then I can get rid of my spacer because my upper a-arm keeps rubbing. And a bit better ride quality

Your truck looks good as is. I would paint the chrome door handles and the grill surround black and leave the wheels as they are. Do this first and then consider the step bars - as is or black?

Joe are you saying black door handles and black grill surround? Or blue painted handles?

I like the color combo, and I wouldn't black out any of it. I don't think a "blackout" would fit very well on your truck. I would: lose the steps, bug shield, and chrome toolbox(if possible). PTM the grille surround, door handles, and mirror caps. And then go with 09+ badges.

I'm thinking black like on the other truck you displayed for the door handles. My grill surround matches my paint and I like it but think yours would look good in black. Not glossy but satin for the handles and surround. Do the handles first and you will like the result.

I would black it out. That being said anything thats black takes more work to make it look good and keep clean. But when it's done right you can't beat it. Here's my lariat

Its a nice looking truck as it sits but I agree w/ FX4BLK. PTM the grill surround and handles or just PTM the surround and get black handles. I would wait to do the rims till last to see how it looks with those small mods first.
